Over the winter, I had my tires unmounted and put new batteries in the wheel sensors. This worked out OK, as all 4 sensors were "relearned" by the car and I have pressure readings on all 4 corners. The sensors are banded to the tires, by the way.
I had the tires remounted by a very reputable place that advertises in all the vette mags and specializes in wheel repair. The problem is that both front tires won't hold air for more than 3 or 4 days. Both the wheels and tires were fine before. Any ideas on what could be going on? The wheels are 3 piece HRE 547s.
I had to go with oversize O rings on my rear wheel sensors in order to get them to seal. This was due to the machining being too deep in the rim and the sensor body bottoming out before the O ring was fully seated. This problem isn't uncommon.
Guys, Mr. Blue said that the sensors are "banded" to the rims. That means that they are NOT protruding throught normal valve hole, they're down in the "valley" between the rim halves, held in by "bands" (big, long hose clamps, usually). Therefore, the "o-rings" are out of the equation.
Check your valve stem cores. Make sure they're tight. If your tire shop used clamp on weights, make sure that they aren't upsetting the seal between the rire and rim. If all that's OK, you probably have a leak between rim halves. Unfortunately, if that's the case, the tires have to come off, and the halves resealed.
