Default NEw Battery?

I want to replace my stock battery. What type of battery should I replace it with and where should I get it from? Thanks again!

Most around here are using the Optima Red Top...myself included. If you have a monster stereo the Yellow Top deep cycle would prolly be better.

Optimas can be bought in about as many places as aspirin in your locale as well as online.

I get mine from the local Autozone. Do a Google search and you'll have plenty of places to purchase from

Optima Red Top for me. I have them in both the Vert and the Camaro. both have been very reliable.

Do a seach on the Tech forum. Optima red tops do not have a good record. I am now going out to purchase a Exide Opbital 75DT. Better reliability.

Any Gel or AGM battery will do, any battery can leak, but the gel and the AGM are safer to use. Since it sits right over the PCM.

red tops in all of my toys now, in the Z06 I added the optional cover.
Never a failure or problem and now the USN is buying them for machinery that uses 12v batteries like small boats and pallet jacks.

My original Delco lasted over six years in my 2000 coupe without any problems.

However, I did just replace it with an Interstate battery.

You might want to check out ATI's Odyssey. I've had mine now
for two months, and was able take 13 lbs off the front end.

Exide Nascar from Sams. 3 Year Free Replacement,. Under $50. My other choice would be Sears Diehard.

I would suggest a gel type battery, only because the heart and soul of your C5 sits directly underneath the battery.

Optima Red Top. GM bought it because my Delco AGM went dead one Sat. afternoon after the service dept was closed. There is an emergency clause in your warranty. I bought the red top and presented the receipt to the service mgr. I got a check from GM about 3 wks later.

Default Delco

My 98 still has the original Delco made in 1997 stamped on the top.
No leaks but checked it every fall when I took it out. Getting a new Optima today...Batteries Plus. Taking NO chances
