Any problem patching run flats?
I have a nail in my left rear Goodyear. The tire has about 15k miles on it. Is there any problem patching the hole?
Thanks

Yes. No matter how well they patch it or what material they use, it will still be a run flat

As long as the puncture is not in or close to the sidewall, it should be patched from the inside to retain its speed rating.

Had one of mine plugged from a nail puncture.Never had a problem with it. Long as it is on the tread part it is OK.

I've had three of the runflats patched on my C5s - never a problem. They have used the plug and patch method on them.

nails
Had three nail holes in rt rear runflat patched without a problem. Finally replaced both rear tires when I picked up a huge metal stake in the left rear that was about a 1/2 wide. Couldn't patch that...so I purchased two new runflats for the rear.
Sorry folks but my wife drives the vette once in a while and I do not want her on the road with a flat tire.

GoodYear recommends a plug and a patch to preserve the speed rating.
Many just opt for the plug. ( unless your race on tracks which do not permit plugs)
