Redline baby!

Seriously, I have an auto. Shift it myself around town. Usually around 4k.

Most of the time I take it kind of easy - shift anywhere between 2-3K rpms. Of course, there is the occasional shifting at the upper end of the scale too.

You forgot the option, "6+K, I'm not rich, I don't care about gas prices, I built my car myself so I know it should last a while, and I like to drive really fast with lots of G-force pulling me into the hatchback."

I generally take it easy because I'm using mine as my daily drive (for now) and have an ~60 mile round trip commute every day.

Garage queens look away...7k miles in a little over 3 months

I typically shift at 2000 to 2200 rpm. I don't really look at the tach, I can tell from the sound and the way the car reacts.

What really made a big difference was the installation of the CAGS eliminator. This allows me to shift at any rpm without an issue.

Yeah, normal cruising around town its like 1500 to 2200 then shift back to 1500... or something like that. The manual actually said shift at 15, 25, 35, 45, and 55 for best economic performance i think... there was a little chart...

$2.85 a Gallon btw... the closer to 30mpg i can stay, the happier I am. I'll only gun it ocassionaly, and any 'itches' i get, i'll work out at the track... hehe
