It works.... or as I think of it... does not work anymore.. lol.. So, now I can walk by the car... and not hear it unlock... lock... unlock... lock... You can cut the Bell Wire.. IF you ever wanted the feature back.. you could always solder it back together... but I won't have to...
i imagine most of the purchasers on here have gotten the key for the later cars that didnt even have the passive annoyance from the factory. im with you, its stupid and annoying hahaa.

I noticed on their website, they sell different fobs for 97-99, 00, and 01-04. They even list them differently without the boards. I have to assume that the fob you have will only fit the guts for someone with a 97-99, correct?
I have a 98.... Vat #6... has Silver (gray to me) insert... nice key.. I only need one.. hence why I ordered one... got an extra.. for waiting 42 days to ship... So... it will fit 97-99 my guess...
Thanks for posting the how to disable passive feature on the key fob. It was very annoying to me. It clicked all the time when I was near my car, even though it wasn't locking or unlocking the doors in the passive mode. It is now HISTORY.
Since I cut the wire... I love the remote... I lock it.. I open it... not at will walking by.... PS I still have a #6 Key availble.. first with a #6 wins.... keep checking...
