Ok... I got my key... or keys.... as it took 48 days after order for some shipping availiblity problem... they sent me 2 as a way of saying sorry.
Ok, first thoughts, they could save the money they spend on th black velvetine bag... and print a page of instructions. I did not want to break a $120 key... but it turns out, you just pry it open.. there are no pry areas like in the old fob. Then you have to pry out your old battery, and the spring steel contacts, and put in the new remote... now I got that done... and it works, but now it is set to Passive. The old remote had a slide switch.. the new on does not..and no provishion to put the old one in... I hate the Passive mode. How do you turn it off without a switch?
I got the key cut, and it does work good in both up or down... the lock smith was not happy that the key did not come out... and had to cut one side with the fob oa a 90 degree.. the other side, could not cut that way.. so the had to put the key in backwards.. cut from the nose side. FYI
Ps I have an extra key with #6 pelet, and Silver insert, with colored flags on the back.... make me an offer.
ya... it never went to post.. Need Moderator to fix
I pushed the button Max... did nothing after 2 minutes... I pushed it again... now there were 2... no alcohol was consumed while making this post.... maybe later.. but not now...
I am using my old remote... it did not do what this remote is doing... my SAME pc board.. is in my new remote.... But it locks me in the car.. and opens and locks the car at will... I need to turn the remote off... Corvette Key sent me a E-mail.. to push the button on the left.. before closeing the case.. there is no button... man.. a pic is worth a 1000 words....
The Key Remote thing is kinda cool... But I am not used to everytime I walk by my car... it unlocks...and I walk away... it locks... and it is just in the garage... which I used to have no problem with... also while driving, it locks me in... sometimes I want to get out..and it has not unlocked the door yet...
So I want to turn the Passive thing off... If you turn it off with the dic.. the remote still is sending signal.. eating up the battery. They tell me to push a button on the left, inside... where the passive switch button was.. but not to let the battery lose contact.. pretty hard to do, as unless it is snaped shut tight, the battery does not make contact.
So I tried pushing the button through the Panic button hole with paper clip.. so far.. did not work. I may have to drill a small hole and poke with a paper clip... I like the key... just have to get the Passive thing off..
This is what I got... I will do it... let you know...
If you haven't had success with disabling the passive via the rubber pad.
You can permanently disable this feature on your remote board by following
the instructions below:
1. Locate the silver bell shaped piece near the upper left hand side of
the circuit board.
2. Remove the wire that extends from right of the bell shaped piece.
3. The passive has now been disabled.

I like my corvette key.
I bought my car used from a dealer. There was only one key and no fobs.
I saw this and figured 'what the heck ill upgrade'
It did seem a bit big at first, but now I dont think twice about it.
I think its very well made. The Abs plastic is hard and scrach resistant. This seems like a very rugged peice that can last years of dropping and getting wet.
Im very hard on tools and cell phones and I will pay a premium to buy a long lasting peice. For me this key was worh it.
