Hey guys, Im about to buy a 1999 corvette, and i need to take out a $15,000 loan, But the banks that ive checked with only finance cars that are 2002 and newer, If you guys know of any banks or financial institutions that could help me get a loan for the '99 id really appreciate it. I live in chicago so if you know any national chains that would help. Thanks
good luck with the purchase. i think you are going to run into the same problem with most banks/credit unions etc.
know its hard to wait... but what about saving up a little more? if your taking out a loan for 15k on a 99, your probably only puting maybe 3k down?? saving up a bigger down payment would really help you out!
Do you have credit unions there? If so, They are a good place to start.
Do you have an account at a local bank? They should want to help you if they want to keep your business. How's your credit history? That will also make a difference. If you don't get the right answer, just keep trying at other places. Not all institutions have the exact same policy. Rates tend to be higher the older the car gets.
hey coola fresh go pick up a copy of chevy and vettetrader there is a co. that will finance hipo cars and there rates are decent i saw them last month on the inside cover...if u cant find it pm me and ill look it up for u..goodluck
I've used CapitalOne (formerly PeopleFirst) several times and never once did they ask what make/model/year car I intended to buy. They are concerned only with your credit rating and ability to repay. I'm a big fan of their Blank Check program.

I've used them before, too, although not for a Vette. One of the easiest loan programs you'll ever see. No hassles at all. I'd highly recommend them.
In addition to the other suggestions (Credit Unions are generally great to work with ) did you go back to the place you were working with and ask what they could do for you with a larger down payment. I'm suprised, given its a Vette, they would place a year restriction on the loan. May be worth going back for more discussions. Good luck
I used E-Loan , through a dealer , per there rules .
I bought a 99 , no cash down , 60 months . This was so easy , it was scary !!
I recommend them to everyone .
I used eloan.com to get funding for my 99 coupe. Pretty broad limits on the model year and milage. Allowed for financing on an older car than either Capital One or my credit union would allow.

It was almost easy enough to be scary. They sent a blank check good for a lot more than I wanted to spend. Was very tempted to get an 03 Z instead of what I got.
