owned my car for about a month now.... i have a question... where did they stick the BOV (blow off valve) on this car? I have corsa exhaust and when I put the clutch in (while driving) the car makes a psssssh sound... also the car seems to make a spooling sound when I get on it... I've never owned a turbo car, but i hang out with enough ricers to know what all this stuff sounds like...
any idea? is it the corsa? or just the sound of the LS1... I had an LT1 T/a before this and never heard such a sound.

What kind of turbo do you have (STS, Lingenfelter, etc)? If your car does not have an aftermarket turbo system installed, you do not have a blow off valve. The "spooling" you heard could be a few different things. The first thing that comes to mind would be an aftermarket intake.

Come on guys. I know you all were once new to cars too, and I bet you asked some stupid questions as well. Give the new guy a break and show him that Corvette owners are willing to help out the newbies, even if they ask questions that we think are stupid.

Correct, I thought it was called a "bypass valve" on a supercharger application though.

Nope, it's the same BOV, vacuum run, and releases boost. There's also a blow out valve which you can install which helps prevent over boosting, but again that's available for turbo systems as well.
Sorry... I know there is no BOV. Ls1 (N/A) ebay CAI & corsa exhaust (both previous owners)
But I still here these sounds.. it doesn't sound exactly like a BOV.. but damn close... It sounds like the exhaust but i'm not sure... I know my gf even said it sounds kinda ricerish .
So i was just curious if anyone knows what is producing this sound....:

I agree its definately the air getting sucked into the Cold air intake, I sould hear it on my WRX CAI and the one I Had on My Vette before it came off when the turbos went on, with the sound insilation out for another project you could really hear the air gettting sucked into my rear mount turbos, sounded cool as hell. dont be afraid to ask questions.
Girls !!! Girls !!! Lets not scratch each others eyes out!! In answer to the original question, There is no BOV in a stock Corvette Be it M6 or A4. I would suggest you may have some sort of vacuum problem with your clutch and should have it checked by a dealer or a reputable Tranny shop. Most of them will test and guestimate free of charge and welcome to the Corvette world. Just ignore the juveniles. Gives em somthing to do when mommy isint watching them Blinker fluid resivoir......I dont believe you guys sometimes
You guys gotta be f-in kidding me that you're entertaining this. Somehow I don't believe his original post was even genuine. I'd put money that it was a joke. And even if it wasn't, how the hell are you going to purchase a Corvette at 15-20+ thousand and not know that it's a naturally aspirated vehicle?

you should go back and read my 2nd post... I know my way around cars... not saying i'm an expert by any means or I wouldnt' post this.... but when I hear what sounds like a turbo and then a bov... and i don't know what is causing it... gives me reason to say... hey what gives? thanks for the imput.. we have already determined the CAI is causing problems on the dyno.
