I have heard of this as well but not sure exactly what is being discussed.
I assume the two horizontal vents beside the exhaust?
My 98' looks no different than any other vette I've seen.

That is one othe beautys of the C5, very little visible changes through out the production run. A '97 and '04 are very close, change out the wheels the avg joe can't tell 'em apart.

The 2003 cars had different crossed flag emblems (noting the 50th anniversary) than the rest of the C5's.

The 2004 commemorative editions had their own crossed flag emblems.

I've asked about those slots quite a number of times since last fall, and no one has found any differences with any slots. I suspect that item should be removed from that list of differences that pops up every now and again.
