Thx, so only when you gun it does it use more gas then normal?
Well sure. Same theory applies with 4.10 gears. You get into the upper RPMs faster, which uses more gas. But, if you drive it like a granny, you won't notice much difference.
I'm still not sure how a supercharger could actually net BETTER gas mileage, though. But, I'm always willing to learn.
I have had as good or even a little better in The past, but only with an engine that was build for a blower. The cam seems to be the big difference as it does not have to draw the charge in it is more efficient.
No supercharger but i do have a set of twins. Had Extreme Motorsports in Arizona do the work. It was a little over 300 miles going there. I averaged 26 mpg. Coming back with the twin turbo i averaged 24 mpg. But i did have a much different ride back home So all and all no noticeable difference than before.
On the highway, staying out of the throttle (for the most part), I am getting 26.5mpg. In town, hitting it pretty hard, I get apx. 19mpg. Still not too bad in my book.
