If anyone is interested I just installed a set of Ti's in a 97 and have a few comments on the Tech Tips on installling Ti's. now let me say that i do not know if the advice i am giving can be used on any other year other than 1997, but here goes.
first of all i did the install on a four post ride on lift and made sure that I had the rear of the car all the way back on the lift so that the mufflers cleared the lift. I didn't have to jack the car off of the lift for clearance. I removed the flange to H pipe bolts and then removed the muffler hanger bolts. I also had to remove the brackets holding the anti lock brake mechanism from the rear crossmember since on a 97 its located in the rear. at this point with some gentle twisting i was able to remove the stock exhaust from the car. in the Tech Tips section it states that if you have an automatic trans ( which I do, ) you have to cut the pipes approximately 2" from the mufflers. I didn't have to do this. in other sections it states that if you have an auto trans that you would have to drop the fuel tank sheilds. I didn't have to do that either. I'm not sure if these directions were there only if you were doing the install and removal on the ground, but I didn't have to do any of the above. I can see why some people who don't have availability of a lift use a loading dock for the install. Hope this helps someone who is trying to remove their stock system and install Ti's.
One more quick note, If you have to cut the pipes before the mufflers, how would you then be able to install a complete Ti system???
thanks, wcj
Looks like you did a good job installing your pipes! Hope you like them.
I tried a set on my car, and although they are a work of art themselves (hey, they made the SR71 out of this stuff), they were still a bit too quiet for my taste, and I went back to my rudely loud PRT's

Thanks for the post. I'm buying a set of Ti's from a very cool forum buddy in the next week or so and I'd like to hear your impressions of the sound vs. your old stock setup. I'm pretty stoked about getting them installed on my car.
