Then new Z06 makes me drool. Then I think about what I'd need to do to get a (mandatory) front plate on that bad boy.

That's one thing that they definitely messed up on the c6!

Virtually all areas of the C6 are refined over the C5, especially the front, which, IMHO is a great improvement. The C5 front is great looking but the C6, with 5 inches less overhang, looks trimmer, lighter and also greatly lessens the scraping issue. The back is improved, especially around the exhaust. The interior, though still with lots of plastic, is more finished, with lots more creature comfort features and options available. 50!!! more HP and that is just on the standard model! 6 speed auto with paddle shift! Improved suspension. Lots more stuff too. How could even the most devout C5 owner not also love the C6? A nearby C6 does not make me feel inferior in my C5. Heck, I had mine before they had there’s, and they are both awesome looking! I still get LOTS of comments, compliments and satisfaction with my perfect Black Beauty Vert. I AM happy with my C5 especially in that it is PAID FOR. A C6 would put me into debt, and THAT is MY primary reason for liking my C5 better, at least for now. A C6 WILL be in my future at some point though.

Quite an assumption that you're making. Maybe I just don't like the looks? I guess that is allowed...stock power aside and my C5 has more anyways I still think that it reminds me of a an old Mitsubishi VR4. Chevy could have done a better job of asking their customers what they wanted. Again my opinion.

I seen the the C6 in my rearview mirror and also thout it was a Viper coming up. As we drove next each other amnd looked at each others car, I waved but no response. I had my son with me and he asked who I was waving at and I replied no one.

Bummer. I've pretty much made it my policy now, that I will always wave at C5's and earlier, but I won't initiate the wave to a C6. If they want to wave, I'll wave back, but I'm not going to get in a twist if they don't.

I really hate the butt of the C6, It's flat and has the old 84to90 C4 style round tailights that look outdated to me. Alot of hard edges. The Z06 looks alot better but the C6 is still a vette so I admire it and wave to all that go by!!

I know they couldnt improve the C5 much more, but the C6 is kind of pointless if you already own a C5 - its like buying the same car with mods (Japanese mods lol). I HATE the front, like the rear, dont mind the sides, but think it looks a little clunky being that much shorter, but it was for performance purposes so that can be overlooked. However, the interior is bloody boring - even if it did cost more to make. The stock increase in power is nice, but not enough to justify buying another corvette since its so close to the C5's. I like the Z06, but I'll wait until the C7 for my next vette, since by that time I'm gonna buy the biggest baddest bloody thing they come out with - provided its not another C6! AND THEY BETTER HAVE NASSAU BLUE BACK AT THAT TIME!!!!!!

Alot of people have been complaining about the waves offered from the C6 guys, but I havent had any problems with them yet, and I've actually missed a wave when one C6 passed by and it didnt register as a Corvette until I saw the side!

The C5 was superior to the C4, the C6 is superior to the C5, and the C7will be superior to the C6.

I like the C6 all except for the front end. It's so NON Corvette.

I really expect GM to change that soon though.

I expected the new vette to be along the lines of the new Z-06, and there isn't much not to like about that car.

Don't have to worry about the headlight motors wearing out.

You cant be serious!!! If you like it thats fine, but dont tell me or others that it is jealousy...it aint...IMHO

A C6 frontend looks like a big friggen smiley...its the worst part of the car... I do agree the seats/interior on a C6 is a major improvement. The engine is awlsome on the C06 and the Zo6, but the styling looks undone and copied from a Viper or Lambo.

I have an '01 coupe with 15,800 miles in perfect condition. I love the car, but was really looking forward to the new C6 coming out as I usually trade every few years. I eagerly went to the Philly car show just to look at the new Vette when it was being introduced. Boy, was I disappointed in my first impressions, and those feelings really haven't changed since. I think the front looks like a Camaro, and the back looks unfinished and has cheap stick on parts. I'm also confused to hear people think the interior looks of more quality than the C5. I remember thinking the C5 interior looked cheap when I fist saw that car. But, I feel the C6 interior looks even cheaper than the C5 with the plastic center column, etc. In fact, the painting of the center column, or total after market replacement is one of the first mods C6'ers do. They also paint the cheap black parts on the rear which makes a big improvement IMO. The wheels are also just plain cutting corners as the quality is downright disgraceful. Performance and mechanicals aside, I'm just disappointed that GM cut so many corners just to maintain a price point.

In the mean time, I really love my C5, and my appreciation for the car keeps growing now that I'm doing mods and just having fun driving without thinking of trading her in for something I don't like.

I had a chuckle tonight as my wife and I were returning to my car from a restaurant. There was a C6 parked near my car (that great looking blue color), and as we were walking by the car I started laughing. When questioned, I said I had just remembered what someone said on this forum about the C6. This poster said something like the front of the C6, and many new GM cars, seem to have this sinister smiley face look, like it's a cult symbol of some kind. After saying this, she went to the front of the C6 and also started laughing, and agreed that it did look like something subliminal.
