I have an 02 Z06 with approximately 33K miles on it and it seems that the brake is starting to go. I usually use it alone when parking, unless on a steep incline or so - then I leave it in gear as well. Lately I have had to pull this thing up to the roof to get it to stick on even a slight incline...can this be adjusted - what kind of $$ and work are we talking about?
Obviously, if it is $$ of any real amount - I will just learn to get used to parking it in gear.
Once in a while when Im backing out of my driveway, I will pull on the parking brake and do a little adjustment. Since Ive started doing this about once a week, its helped a lot with the crappy brake. Its actually decent now. When you do it, you will hear a click and a thump. I will do this twice in a row and the second time you do it, you probably wont hear the click of the brake adjusting, if you do it is still adjusting. Has been working great for me the past couple of months. Try this first before you start tearing into the brakes for greater adjustments.
