Too Many Miles?

If it had been taken care of , the miles don't matter .
i would take a highway miles serviced vehicle any day over a low miles car that spend eevery weekend on the track
Inspect it , and go for it if it's clean . the engine is good for at least anothe 100K
Also, 91K miles for a car that will only see Sundays and/or nice day cruising is not so bad. If you're buying it as a daily driver and expect to be putting 15-25K+ miles on a year ... You may want to consider a lower mileage car.
If you can knock say 1-2K off the price ... and the car has been well maintained, it probably a decent deal.
Good Luck!
Ah.. I have 95,000 on mine.. runs as if it were new.. I think I will drive it another 100,000 miles, and more... don't by a Vette because of the miles... I will bet ... some of the newer Vetes.. with low miles suck... as they are NOT driven... seals hard.. leaks.. bad gas... I NEVER need to add oil between oil changes.. about 5,500 miles.. mobil one, so my thought is... buy it.. drive it... as when you look back... you will be glad you did... to buy a car to sit in the garage... insane,... and the LS1 will go 300,000 miles.... drive it..enjoy it..

I'm in the group - look for a lower mileage car as well.

I think we are gonna see C5s with 300K on them and still going strong...Mine may be one of them someday,I got it to drive it,not sit around and look at it and be afraid to drive it because I have to worry about miles.

Especially ones that didn't get driven enough to get all the problems taken care of under the warranty. Nothing worse than having a low mile car that is out of warranty and after you buy it one of the standard C5 problems that has a TSB crops up.

A LOW mileage car is often worse than a high mileage car due to not ENOUGH driving. As another member posted above, seals get hard resulting in leaks, electrical connections develop "gremlins", and much more.
A car with average miles, could be driven hard, you never know, after all these are Vettes and are easy to beat on.
A car with high miles can actually be a good thing, because you can't put high miles on something without them being freeway miles. Think about it, how much around town driving would you need to do to put 91000 miles on a car in 5 years?
The important things are:
How does it FEEL? Does it feel tight, or is it a bit sloppy, especially when you shift it, or it shifts itself if it's an auto. This one thing can tell you ALOT about HOW it was driven.
How does it brake? Does it pull to one side or another when braking? This can tell you something about how the car is maintained, and whether the owner was a cheapskate. Never buy from a cheapskate - what else did he skimp on - oil changes? Yikes!
Does it track straight down the road on a flat road? If not, why not? Would YOU own a Vette and not have it aligned properly? Something's probably wrong with it if it's not straight, since alignments are cheap, and Vette owners are a picky bunch. So, for the same reason as the above paragraph, I'd be VERY wary if it doesn't go straight.
Look under the car. Are there any leaks? Leaks are expensive to fix in these cars. You should see some dirt, oil dust from LIGHT seepage, and such, but nothing should look shiny wet. On the other hand, if the car is spotless and squeaky clean, get ready to run here, 'cause there may be something to hide here, unless the owner is meticulous, and if that's the case, EVERYTHING about this car should be perfect. For example, if the undercarriage is squeaky clean, yet the brakes or tires need replacing, something does not add up, does that make sense?
Finally, drive the car hard during your test drive. All kinds of things will show up when you push it, if there are issues. Also, the owner will start babbling like a baby if you do get into a threshold where he knows there are problems. If the owner wants you to drive it without him in the car, there's definitely something wrong, because would YOU let some prospect demo your car without you in it?

Also - Electron Blue (color code 21) was only available in '02 & '03. The only factory blue offered in '01 is Navy Blue Metallic which is much darker than Electron Blue.
You might consider sending a PM to CF Member Sponge Vette with the VIN of this car, and get some history before you move forward. You'll also find out what color the car was originally. And if it was repainted - why? Good luck.....
