The Porsche in your pic appears to have a gold cage and some other interior trim as well. I think that's the only reason it looks ok. If I owned it, I would have gone with a black cage and either polished or some shade of black for the wheels. The Iforged pic in one of the posts has a couple that look good to me.
Yours might look good with gold if you have some other gold trim to match up with it like the Porsche does. Gotta be careful with the gold though, lest you remind someone of a "smokey and the bandit" TA.
What I was thinking was doing some leather interior trim in natural tan leather or suede. Not gold but I think it would be tasteful.
To another poster who mentioned a black Z06, black and gold has always been a good combo but it could give the Trans Am look. (I had an 82 TA like that but I had centerlines on it.)
I looked at nearly every pic on iforged's website and I think I only saw two cars with gold wheels and a few more with custom colors. It seems we are talking a fashion "trend" here. Right now the fashion is either chrome, polished, or black, black/polished.
To the poster that said "it matters what you (I) want", this is true but I also do not want a car that everyone snickers AFTER I leave. I'd rather be the guy snickering.
If you have gold accents in the car, or stripes, etc exterior, OK, otherwise gold is too obvious. IMHO (Although, wheels noted by Darion are simple but classy).
