Default 97' for 14K???

driving down the road today, I see a T.R. vette pull to the right of me. I glance out the window to see a for sale sign mocking me. For those who don't know, I sold my 01' about 3 weeks ago for some personal reasons. I take a close look at the sale sign, and it lists as a 97' with 60K miles for $14K. That seems to be to good to be true... but then it is almost 10 years old. What do you guys think?

Without more info, and that being the asking price, it sounds good and worthy of checking out further

Weren't 1997s and 1998s plagued with quite a few problems, though? A good deal isn't good if you spend on repairs all the time. I'd check the service/repair history on it first.

I've never heard that before!

My '98 w/40K miles is flawless, always has been! Even if this car had problems, I'm sure they've been corrected by now. $14K is a steal for a C5 with even a 100K miles!

Check it out like you would any car purchase, condition..condition..condition!

If it's in decent shape $14k is a great price.

If it's in good shape... buy it & get out before he sobers up... I would put my '97 against any C5 on this forum.... no way it would only go for $14,000....

Heck, it's worth looking into. Then if it checks out, offer him 13K and see if he takes it.

I just called the number that was on it... Thank god for quick fingers and a cell phone. I got his voice mail, asked if I could see the car, and if he could give me more info on it. From what I saw it was clean, and the body was in great shape... but something just seems fishy... 14K is way cheep.
