My 99 auto, coupe with 90,000 miles will not move! I can start the car but the second I put it in gear (rev or drive) it just shuts off! I am getting two messages on the DIC. "pull key wait 10 sec" and "SERVICE COLUMN LOCK" CL was fixed under the recall. One thing I did notice the day before this started was that my pas side floor mat was wet from the ac. Please help me figure out what is wrong. It is at a Firestone as I write this. (my brother works there...DISCOUNT.)

If your car was repaired under the original recall - the fix at the time was to disable fuel delivery if column lock was detected. Since that time, GM has changed the corrective action. That's why the car won't move, the fuel is cutting off.
I can't offer you a quick fix - I think the car is going to have to be flat-bedded to the dealership for them to perfom the latest fix. I won't add insult to injury to tell you to install the column lock bypass, and if you had, you wouldn't be in this situation.
As far as the carpeting being wet from the A/C - you might have a condensation line blocked and the water is spilling out. When HVAC runs, it also dehumidifies - and the water has to go somewhere. Normally - the water runs out under the car.....ever see a puddle of water after you've run the A/C in the summer? That's condensation - and that line is probably blocked causing the water to run onto the carpet.
For the umpteenth million time, the recall does not fix the problem. It only causes the condition you are experiencing. If you've only looked at this gorum one time previously, you will see that the only fix is the CLB, but only if your column is not already locked.
If you've got an auto tne dealer will remove the locking plate. 6 spd, you've got a problem. Must be first unlocked then proceed with the the true fix above.
Supposedly the latest recall will have the dealer remove the locking mechanism and install a harness bypass. But good luck getting them to get this right.
Put a CLB in my 2004 MN6 when I bought it new and zero problems to date.
Good luck with your situation.

...doesnt make it any easier to hear this happen again and again...
Lots of good info....sorry if I am asking a question that has already been asked. I don't ask a ton of questions on this forum and I did do a search before I asked. I guess I just searched the wrong place. Anyway, as always thanks for all the advice. You folks have always helped when needed. Thanks again!
I think one of the major problems you are experiencing is the fact that the car is at Firestone right now
I can tell you the horror stories
I don't even drive by a firestone let alone let them even touch my car .
good luck on your repair.
The reason I took it to Firestone is there is a mech. there who has worked on vetts for years and my brother works there. Big discount....well she was towed to the dealership late yesterday b/c they said it could be recall related. Well guess what....it was not! Damn! Anyway mech at dealership said it needed some kinda computer control module??? Bout 370.00 just for the part. Ouch! but i guess it could have been worse!

$670 for the part.....plus labor at about $90 an hour? You might try checking with Bob@Fitchner Chevrolet or Jason@Fred Beans. You might save some money if your dealership is willing to install your parts versus parts they provide. To tell the truth, I have no idea how much a BCM costs, you'll have a better idea if you contact one of the supporting vendors I mentioned and ask for a price.
$500 is a good price to replace a BCM. I had one replaced under warranty (A/C overflow), and it was almost a grand. There is a condensation drain that gets clogged on the pass. side firewall. It needs to be checked regularly. If it's clogged, water goes into the electronics.
