Default Oil Pressure

I have a '97 coupe, Automatic, 58,000 miles.

I was wondering what your oil pressure is at idle, with the car in gear?

Sometimes, I'm seeing oil pressure in the low 20's when sitting at a light. It runs mid to high 30's or higher going down the road. I have noticed after a hard acceleration and then to a stop, the pressure really bottoms out, but comes right back.

I'm running Amsoil 5W30, oil level is where its supposed to be.

Is this normal, or am I just parinoid?

Seems low to me. I idle in the mid to high 30s and when I am cruising I am around 45 and this is with a brand new LS6 Oil Pump. At highway speeds when cruising at 70-75 for an extended period of time, are you getting any kocking noises or abnormal noises?

There is no knocking, or any strange noises.

No smoking either.

The car runs extremely well.

Mine is about 45 lbs at idle and 50 lbs or more running down the street.

Maybe, not certain, but it could be the oil sending unit, but that would be something that you may want to have looked at by a professional. No noises is good news, the pressure seems a little low for me to feel comfortable.
