Default GMPartsDirect service/experience?

Hello all,

I ordered a set of the ceramic brake pads from gmpartsdirect a week ago, and they have been on 'special order' ever since. My 2 customer service emails have not been answered either.

A local dealer said it would take them just 2 days to special order the same pads. I know people have ordered these pads from gmpartsdirect before, but what's with the delay? And slow customer service?

I waited almost 4 weeks for my Z06 sway bars..... I won`t order from them for anything urgent, otherwise the pricing is great!

For regular parts, thier prices are great, but thier shipping costs are high.

Try Fred Beans or Fitchner Chevy

I've ordered a couple of things from them. One part (Esky door handles for the Z71) took a little over a month but I did replacement an A pillar for my old 02 Camaro SS that took about 2 weeks. I found shipping to be reasonable and I paid a lille over half of what I would through a dealership.

While you will not get personal service from them, you get to know the pricing right away and will generally receive the items right away.

I know others here support Fred Beans and Fitchner; I have purchased items from them as well, but my past experience has been that for smaller parts, neither Gene or Fitchner respond to my email requests for pricing - I don't think I should have to chase after someone to give them my business. This makes me rely on GM parts direct that much more, and Gene and Fitchner less.

Lots of people have had problems with them lately. I dont like the fact that it is not possible to speak to anybody. I have ordered from them once or twice and never had a problem but lots of people I know have had problems with them.

their prices are pretty good, but like the others mentioned, if you need parts fast it's not the place to order from. i've had parts on special order for 2-3 weeks before it got shipped out. i had time to wait so the delay wasn't a biggie for me.

i also like to order from https://www.partszoneonline.com/index.php. they reply within 1-2 days for quotes and their shipping prices are very reasonable.

Well, my order's still on 'special ordered' status, and they have yet to respond to either of my customer service requests. What a crappy vendor... hopefully mine ships out soon.
