Default Shifter Boot

I just upgraded my C5 shifter with the C6 Z06 arm/**** from Fred Beans.

The C5 boot doesn't fit over the bottom of the ****, and it's a bit baggy as the C6 shifter is a bit shorter. Where can I get a nice replacement boot? I don't want to cut in to my stocker.

I just installed a C5 shifter boot from Vette Essentials. Great product, great service.

Are you talking about that plastic ring that the boot attaches to, Stuart? VE doesn't provide that. In fact I've heard that the only way to get one of those is to buy the entire O.E.M. boot - the plastic ring is not available separately. Seems to me one of the vendors with manufacturing capability could do very well to reverse engineer that ring and sell it.

Stuart - didn't one of the vendors fairly recently come on here and ask if there was any product not commonly available that we wanted/needed?

When I replaced my boot with the VE boot - even though I KNEW that the OEM boot ring was prone to breakage and was virtually impossible to easily replace - as careful as I was, I still broke it....

If you find anything - I still need one, too!
