Pretty scary to consider this. There are many people, forum members included, who take their racing very seriously. Some of these folks, with bolt-ons only, would get down the 1/4 mile track sooner than this beast, albeit at a slower MPH
Then you read about some ricer in a front-wheel-drive turbo four banger that runs in the 7's, that probably cost all of 30 grand, including the price of the vehicle.
Talk to me again about traction, and 87 grand plus the price of a new C6 Z06.
How in ANY way does a lingenfelter TT compare to a 7 second stripped down fwd ricer?
The Lingenfelter has Steet tires, can be driven in the rain. Has Air conditioning, carpeting, sound proofing, and other amenities, the list goes on. This EXACT 11 second lingenfelter can easily run an autox the exact same way it ran 11's down the track. Do that with a 7 second ricer.. that can "hook up"
I'm sorry. But, given the same tricks your little ricer boy does that lingenfelter will be a MUCH lower ET. And still streetable with a simple tire swap.
I know a few 11second and faster ricers. they aren't street cars anymore, they're drag cars. I can build a 9 second drag car for well under 10 grand if i wanted to, but who wants to drive that? If they can afford the luxury and reliability of a lingenfelter then more power to them. I assure you the person in the market for a lingenfelter TT wouldn't EVER consider parking a 7 second ricer infront of his country club.
