Here I Go
I have my first vette after owning 7 F-bodies from a 69 RS/SS to 2002 Z/28. I want to get some feedback from the 'speriance on the forum regarding mods. It's a 2002 A4 black coupe with 21k miles, no racing, just drivin' for fun.
Here's what I'm thinking, in order:
Slotted/drilled rotors and/or calipers
Z06 sway bars and links
X pipe
Mufflers
Cold air intake
Headers (LT or Shorties) (cat or no cat?)
Z06 shocks
Lookin for info about good exhaust system for performance and no resonance at cruise. (Cincy to Detroit to visit son who engineers for DMX SRT group) Wanna make it dependable, a little scary and alot fun!!!
TIA

As far as the headers go, go with the LT ones - either LG or Dynatech are good brands.

I have the slotted and cross-drilled GM rotors. I like the bling factor, but hate that they rusted up on the hat area so quickly. If you go this route, paint the hats prior to installation. There is (was) a group purchase on some really nice zinc coated rotors here on the forum. It might still be going on. Do a search and see if you find anything.
I have the Z51 package on my car -
X-pipe. I have the Corsa X-pipe. I got a great deal from a really good buddy. I *think* it made the stock system (at the time) sound a little different.
I followed up the X-pipe with a set of Borla Stingers. I have resonance in my A4, 3:15 Coupe at about 1400 rpm. Sounds great at idle and crazy at WOT. I understand the GHL system has little or no resonance. Check some of the multitude of threads concerning exhaust.
Cold Air Intake. IMO the only CAI's are: Vortex, Vararam and the new Honker. I'm saving my pennies for the Honker.
If you are going to be getting headers soon, don't bother with an X-pipe now. Go with long tube headers. Makes such as LG, Kooks and Dynatech are discussed here and are often offered on group purchases.
Shocks - :dunno.
