It's not something that can be given away. Usually has to be accompanied by company ID or paperwork from HR. My company counts it as a benefit, and could terminate you for abusing it.

They also require an authorization number via gm to be transfered to anyone else. family members are allowed transferees. if a qualified person transfers to you their certificate you will be ok. only if it is by way of following the rules for the program. if the rules are broken, and gm finds out. they can take away that employees rights to the program, also can ask for the difference of supplier credit back.
