Look for the Service Parts Identification (RPO) Label. For later model years, it will be on the inside of the glove box lid. For earlier model years, it will be on the underneath side of one of the rear storage compartment (left side I believe) lids. The RPO label will show all the RPO codes for the car as it was delivered from the factory.
The following link has one of the most comprehensive lists of C5 RPO codes that I've found:
RPO G90 and G92 = Performance Axle Ratio (3.15) (available with A4 auto trans only)
RPO GU2 = Standard Rear Axle Ratio (2.73) (available with A4 auto trans only)
GU6 = 3.42 Rear Axle Ratio (standard and available with 6 speed trans only)
