I've noticed the display (02' Z06)for the A/C-heater is going dim, acually at times you can't see it. If I tap on the screen a few times it comes back, but then goes away again. Sometimes when I first crank the car the display is bright and normal.
Any ideas or a fix?

I had the same problem. Someone had a fix that required taking the dash apart and soldering a loose wire. I just kept tapping for months until that wouldn't work anymore. I finally broke down and paid the $400-500 to get it replaced unfortunately after warranty expired of course.
I just fixed one last week. Cold solder joints and easy fix. If you are going to Corvette Classic at Texas Motor Speedway 19th of may I can fix it there. If not PM me and you can remove and send to me for repair, only cost shipping each way.

its an easy fix really. I was in the HVAC unit replacing the lights with LED lights and it was pretty easy. Once you have the thing apart, you will see these little black modules and sometimes, one of those solders come loose and cause what you are seeing.

Thanks Ray, I may take you up on the offer. It will be a couple of weeks before I have time to take it out. I'll let you know.
