I'm not familiar with the Sensoro brand you linked to, but I'm with Freestyler. My V1 has saved me so many times if it was $800 it would have been worth it. I've done the $100 job many times and never again. V1 -->
I have the Traveller by Sensoro I got it at costco 2 years ago it works well it IS A BIT TO SENSITIVE BUT THATS FINE BY ME. It has saved my butt many times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yah...my radar is so cheap it is free. My wife just yells "Hey, there's a cop up there! Slow down!" Works great most of the time. When she's not with, I wouldn't be without my V1.
I have an older model escort. It has saved me a fortune and it really works well, considering it is 6 years old.
I Just bought an Escort 8500 off ebay, waiting to receive it.
The old Escort does X,K, KA Wideband. ARE THEIR NEW BANDS being used? X Band appears to be useless!
Take that 100.00 bill and set fire to it you will have about the same amout of radar protection Get a V 1 you will be happy.
I tossed one of these 100.00 Cobra detectors out the window going to a show at Myrtle beach one day last year. You will get a beep when you see the whites of the cops eyes that is clocking you.
Thanks for the info Dave.I cannot tell if the Escort 8500 I bought has Pop on it or not, since I have not yet received it. I Did a google search on Pop Detectors and got a good education. Thanks for the advice. Pop is something the cities and counties are buying, even though the reviews on it are poor. The local govt's believe it will give them an edge on speeders,so they buy them.
From: "This is not a psychotic episode, but a cleansing moment of clarity."
No offense, but rather than go with the crowd (none of which have actually tried the Costco detector except the one who says he likes it) I decided to spend the $100 to try it out. I like to make up my own mind and there are a lot of cops around my area using radar lately, and I don't generally speed, so I should be able to test it easily in the next week or so.
If it works, it's a keeper. Runs nicely on rechargable batteries or cigarette lighter. It has POP/laser detection, a switchable filter to reduce X band false alerts and cannot be detected by VG-2 radar detector-sensing devices. It detects X, K, Ka and Ka super-wide bands in addition to laser. And best of all, if I decide I don't want it 5 years from now when law enforcement has come out with new technology that renders all current radar detectors, including the vaunted V1's obsolete, Costco will give me a full refund.
If I was a habitual speeder/scofflaw, then investing in a V1 might make more sense. But I'm not.
With that detector you may want to employ a "tactic" that I use. I always look at traffic well ahead of me to see if they are hitting brakes in places where I know CHP likes to lurk, even people who religiously follow the speed limit will spook and at least tap their brakes which usually creates a chain reaction of brake lights.
This works well with high speed highways that have some turns in em like the ones we have here in nor cal. It has saved me countless times on turns where a CHP guy is using instant on radar as you come through a turn. Seriously.

...
Unlike other radar detectors the V1 can be upgraded, so it will never become obsolete. I bought mine 3 years ago and last year had it upgraded for POP Radar for about $50.
If Costco will give you a refund in 5 years that sounds like a good deal. You can use that money to make a downpayment on a new model.
