Default Question for Iforged Owners

I just received my new set of Aero's yesterday. I noticed that there is one small nick on the front lip of one of the rims, and on the inside hoop, right where the inside of your tire mounts (by the patent number stamp), there are a bunch of of knicks. These are not just scratches, but big impressions in the metal. They are on all four wheels. I bought these brand new, and waited my 6 weeks for them to be built. I was wondering if this is normal for Iforged wheels, or if I do in fact have something to complain about. I have seen wheels that cost $100 that do not have gouges like these. I just want some other opinions before I call them and give them hell. Thank

Oh man, the crap that used to be posted about those guys here. It seemed like a never ending string of customer complaints. I hope you do better than some past customers did. Do a search. I don't know if much will come up. It's been a few years. Hopefully their customer service has improved, but your post leads me to believe otherwise. Good luck.

Hmm interesting. Maybe you got someone esles rejects for new wheels. Nicks on the inside lip kind of sounds like they may have had tires mounted to them before. How about some pics so we can see and maybe better understand what you have going on.

I was one of the very first one who got in with the whole IForged deal long time ago. I loved everything about the wheels. I dont have them on my car anymore. I still miss them dearly but NOT the customer service.

most companies quality control:
they need to be perfect

some companies quality control:
ehhhh.... I doubt they notice it

when you call them, expect to hear a Pee Wee Herman excuse...

"uhh... we meant to do that".

I don't know how to post pics on the forum. Is there a tutorial somewhere?

IMHO: A BRAND NEW wheel in a box should never be received by the customer displaying any gouges, scratches, abrasions, bubbles, cuts, scrapes, marks, discolorations, and, missing parts of any kind. Period. In fact, one of the prime directives and hallmarks of stellar "Customer Service" by ANY wheel distributor (i.e., iForged, etc.), are the diligent Q/A efforts (i.e., wheel inspection) BEFORE the product is packed (boxed), and, then shipped to the highly expectant end user.

Moreover, custom aftermarket wheel manufacturers, AND, distributors must, themselves, be most forthright in this endeavor! As you well know, custom aftermarket wheels cost far too much money for any purchaser to accept flawed, damaged, or, incomplete in any way. The choice is yours: By your originating post above, it appears that the flaws, however minor in appearance, DO NOT settle well with you. And, no matter how many people you speak with, all the well meaning feedback cannot erase the flaws very visible to the naked eye. AND, that bother YOU, personally!

Therefore, do contact iForged, ASAP. AND, foremost: DO NOT MOUNT ANY TIRES ONTO THE WHEELS! Also, contacting iForged allows them the rightful opportunity to step up to the plate to assist you. Do let us know how it all turns out for you. Remember we have all had to deal with similar issues when purchasing prized high dollar aftermarket mods for our beloved C5's. Hence, your C5 family at CF sympathize with you. Good Luck to You!

And get ready for them to blame the shipper, hopefully they had insurance. It's just something that you are going to have to talk to them about. Good luck.

I hope Keith doesn't hold his breath during the wait for iForged to "step up to the plate".

If it took 6 weeks to get used - pre-mounted rims... how long do you think it'll take Keith to finally receive - truly - brand new wheels?

IMO, I'd ask for a full refund, and move on to some other wheel supplier.

Iforged was my wheel of choice, they are beautiful... but for 4,000 dollars they should be perfect. Because of all the continuing problems with the company , I and several other opted not to buy into IForged mess. We watched people here wait nine months for their wheels only to find they were not the right sizes, different size lips then ordered etc, then the customer service to fix these problems really got ugly..Iforge ships by common carrier and should pack them in such a way that they should be received in absolutely perfect condition ......There have been scores of nightmares in the past about Iforge... it was so bad that they were thrown off this forum, several years went by and the IForged saga quieted down... I know many people received good wheels I also kn ow that many did not...and there customer service has always been bad....
You should accept nothing but perfect wheels... IForged will try to convince you otherwise..in any event you waited 6 weeks to get these...you will wait even longer to get them back,,,,It is such a shame because the design is breathtaking..
Like Mike Mercury said, you should demand your money back and a call tag.. and find another wheel...

I had iForges.

Rims are great, but customer service is a joke.

Never buy any rims from them again.

I won't go in to their customer service issues, but iForged makes some great wheels.

Sounds like the wheels got damaged in shipping. I would contact iForged direct.

So what was the result here? Did they get you fixed up? Has anyone had issues with I-Forged recently, or were these issues just really bad years ago?

I can't speak for the masses, but I was treated very well last summer. I was told 8 weeks because I wanted my centers chromed and they arrived in perfect condition 8-1/2 weeks later. They asked me how I intended to use my car and I was discouraged to pay for polished inner rims. So instead of charging me for an option I didn't need, they talked me out of polished inner rims.

I met Vince in person last summer too at their building. He was very helpful and very attentive. Based upon personal experience, they must be doing much, much better.
