Being a 64 year old guy who has owned Vettes since 64,I bought my first Vette back in 66 and still have it.I paid $4750 out the door and yes that was a lot of money back in 66 but porportionally cant compare to the prices of even todays used Vettes!! Back in my day even a gas station mechanic could own a new Vette if he saved for a few years, those days are gone!! Its really great to see a few young guys who are not in love with the "ricer weezers" and who really want to own "Americas Dream Car"!! This is the car everyone with lesser cars are trying to emulate. If I had a lowly Mustang or Ricer car that was stock I would know that it would not compare "performance wise" to a Corvette so the first thing I would do would be to have the engine souped up or use nitrous or a blower. Some of these ricer crazies put $30k-60k into their motors just so they can run with a Corvette or maybe a little better.Other than stupidity the only thing that this proves is that with enough money you can make anything fast! A semi truck running 10 second or better quarter miles,no problem, put a jet engine on it and spend $100k + and its possible,I believe Bob Motts campaigns such a vehicle. Why not just buy a Corvette from the start??
I'm kinda like a person who collects too many cats or dogs in a house. I think they have a label for this disorder, but the name of it eludes me at this time. I'm sorry, but one cannot have enough Corvettes....
ive got 2 and the wifes got 2,, but guess who does all the cleaning and detailing and getting ready for shows etc,,,?? so ,, i have 4!!! shhhh,, later rj
