I really love the CCW wheels, but I want to go chrome since its a daily driver w/o breaking the bank. I came across a picture of Zcrazy2002's Cray Scorpion wheels, but haven't been able to find a lot of details (nothing in the wheel forum either).
(Zcrazy2002 19" fronts , 20" rears)
Are these just new or unpopular for some reason?
Never heard of Cray, are they good quality?
Chrome hold up?
Any clue on how much these weigh?
Cheapest place to buy them online (I noticed discounttire has them)?
I just took some 'quick' pics 5 minutes ago to add to this post. Love the quality and fit of the wheels. I also have a Trans Am with almost the same wheels (ADR Kasai). So I was pretty excited when I saw that Cray had some wheels that were chrome and real close to the ADR's. I hate the upkeep on polished wheels (been there, done that) which is also why I wanted the Crays
It is hard finding any info on them. In fact, I found an email address on the Cray site, sent them an email, and the address was even invalid...went ahead and got them anyway.
Just bught the Vette a few weeks ago, so the wheels were the first mod to it.

I saw these wheels in pre-production at the SEMA show last November. Some of the things that I was impressed with is the fact that the wheel is specifically designed in Corvette fitments. It also has a provision to fit our tire pressure sensors in the barrel of the wheel.
Another thing - the center cap of the wheel is a direct replacement for the OEM thinspoke center cap, meaning that you can use your C5 logo cap in the wheel.
They come in two finishes - gunmetal spokes with polished barrels or all chrome. There is a pretty good range of sizes, and finally - the prices are pretty good. The wheel is marketed or sold by TSW Wheels....
wow 19 x 10.5 weigh 32 pounds. they are pretty cheap at this site. a lot cheaper than discounttire.com. i thought i found my new rims but they are to heavy for my liking.
I had found that thread in the C6 forum about wheel weights. Wrong offset for us, but the guy that weighed his said:
Originally posted by VETTE-NV: The fronts (18) are 24 lbs., the rears (19) are 25.5 lbs., only about 1.5 lbs. pounds heavier than my previous iForged wheels in similar sizes.
I don't know where they came up with that 32 lbs weight, but it's totally wrong. I weighed them myself along with the iforged.
The prices on that site are considerably better though btw.
Discount Tire: $467 front / $509 rear + tax in many states (that one was $303 / $358) Discount Tire has free shipping, but 8.25% tax here more than negates that.
I haven't confirmed this yet, but one site said: "Cray Scorpion Chrome Forged" in the description. Would be nice if these were actually chromed forged wheels!
I got mine for $445 for the rears and $439 for the fronts from buywheelstoday.com. Free shipping!
Price was excellent from 1010, but I called them and they didn't have them in stock and wasn't for sure about availability. No matter how low the price is, doesn't do any good if you don't have them and possibly not get them for awhile. I also had looked on the Cray website at the time, and everywheel had an inventory count of '0'. So I was hesitant to pay up front.
blacksedan87 is right about the caps. I went with aftermarket chrome caps with the Vette logo. I held the 'alum' caps off my OEM wheels up to the wheels, but you could see the difference between the chrome and the alum. Plus I really wanted to keep my orig polished wheels/tires/caps intact anyway.
I know how to plus size to match factory tire circumference and all... but since we are playing w/ offsets and what not, what tire sizes did you end up going with?
I'm afraid that 20" rear would be too low a profile tire, so I'm thinking 18/19 is the best way to go too.

I was afraid the 20's were going to ride to hard, so I went with the 19's.
The Crays are made for Vettes so the offset is already set for the C5s, and I guess the C6's.
I believe the rear offset is 65 and the front is 50.
I went with 265/35/18 on the front and 295/30/19 on the rears - PSII's
I believe the rear offset is 65 and the front is 50.
Yeah... and it seems they are using the same offset for C4, C5, and C6 generations?
I thought the C6 required a different offset than the C5??? I'm sure they won't rub, but want to make sure they aren't going to stick out/in on my 2001. Anyone have a pic from right behind? Oh and the 1010tires.com sales guy said Cray shows out of stock and no ETR (still I guess). Gunna try buywheelstoday, but just wanted to see the fitment on the back.

saj716, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Fit looks perfect (so it must be the C6s that are off heheh). Thank you too Black. I <3 you guys (in a totally non-gay way, I swear).
25lbs. for a chromed 19 is pretty darned good I'd think.
My 19x11 SSR weighed 27 lbs.
Are those forged or cast? They "look" cast since the lip is superthick. Being able to use OEM centercaps is a pretty neat idea.
To answer one of the earlier questions, these seem to be very new to the market, not that anyone has had any issues that I know of.
Seems like they are taking off in popularity quite nicely. Good luck to everyone picking them up. A pretty sharp alternative wheel. Always good to see some options for us vette guys.

Hands ABOVE the waist!
I believe they are cast. The best feature I think is the provision inside the barrel for the TPM.
