Well, I got my wheels today, but I'm not too happy with these guys (buytirestoday.com) and don't think I'd recommend them to anyone.

The boxes they shipped them in were trashed when I got them (I guess UPS's fault really), chrome lugnuts and a digital tire pressure I was charged for was not in the box, and one of the long set of tapeweights for the wheel was off the wheel and stuck to the packaging. I had to drive down to discount tire to have it rebalanced, and then calling back they said its not policy but they'd submit it for consideration to refund me the $10 discount tire charged me to rebalance if I can scan the receipt and email it to them... sigh. I kindof expected my butt to be kissed after the screwups. They are going to send the missing stuff, but only UPS ground unless I want to pay for faster shipping. This guy was Bill though, not the Marty I dealt with before... maybe Marty would have been better as he sounded very friendly over the phone.

The other thing I was more curious about than anything, I overnighted a set of tire pressure sensors new in baggies to have installed, but they said its missing the grommets and thats $70 for four. Is that right? I just paid as I needed the wheels ASAP.

Oh on to the wheels:
I never asked about the warranty, but it says "pitting of chrome is not covered by warranty", so it doesn't quite match the 3 year warranty I believe our local houseofwheels guy can getcha.

The face is the polished chrome part, but FYI the barrel is actually not polished and is a rough sandpaper like texture.

265/35/18 and 295/35/19 KDW2s are a perfect fit for these width wheels (the rubber just baaarely edges over the chrome lip). Just mentioning as often I have been surprised by how different tire manufacturers have apparent different widths for the same size tires (almost like shoes). Its drizzling out, but I'll have them on tomorrow.

If you're talking about the rubber grommets, my sensors came with them on. I did order a set separately, and they're about 6.00 each.

The inside barrel is not polished/chromed for a reason: have you ever tried to keep a wheel that is polished or chromed in that are clean??? It's almost impossible unless you remove the wheel everytime you want the inside to match the perfectly polished outisde. The rough finish makes maintenance much easier.

Yeah, I thought I was taken for a ride... sigh. These were new in the package, and I swore they had em too, but I had already shipped them off and had no experience installing TPSs. Oh well, live and learn.

My other wheels were semi-smooth, looked like chrome painted on in that it had radial stripes on the finish (thin spoke Y2Ks from HoW)... but yeah, I usually take em off when washing the car. Mainly, I'm replacing the Y2Ks because the chrome was bubbling on the barrel (the face is fine), so we'll see if this rough texture is better. It doesn't look bad, I was just surprised.

I've got a coat of zaino baking on em right now. Only last thing is that these are probably inexpensive (well relatively speaking) because they are Chinese wheels. And right next to the "Made in China stamp" at the bottom of the spoke is some brownish discoloration on some of the wheels. You'd never see it since its right behind the spoke, but just a heads up.

These are not high-end forged wheels like Volk or Work. They are cast, albeit very nicely designed, Corvette specific, and competently finished. Very good quality for the money.
