Welcome to the Forum!

Some earlier models had oil consumption problems, make sure it does not eat oil, other than that, you are good to go!

Peace

I have a 99 and don't have any oil problems. The sport seats are nice to have. HUD might be nice too. Z51 suspension is a must if you drive like me. Or you can upgrade later. Good luck and welcome.

I just picked up my first vette back in March 06, a 99 C5 as well with 35,000 miles. I have had zero problems including the oil consumption concen. The only thing that I had to replace were the door plugs below the interior door panel grab handles, they cost a couple of bucks each from Ecklers.

I have a 99 coupe with 18k. No problems. No oil consumption issues.

Screw the Z51 package, I added Z06 sway bars for minimal $$$ and my Vette handles awesome. The swaybars made a HUGE difference. I have driven Z51's and Z06's and I honestly think a base suspension with upgraded sway bars is the way to go. I also have HUD and highly recommend it if you can find it.

Funny, I had to replace one of the same plastic door filler's that EMS19 had to replace but it was, like, $10.

99 is a great year, IMHO. I believe pup cats started in 00.

Slap some long tubes on it if you want more UMPH

Disregard the LS1 intake style unless you are going for over 400 RWHP

I bought my 99 about 5 years ago with 11K on the ticker.
Great car...no significant problems. I have 49K on it now.
Enjoy the ride

Congratulations! I also have a '99 C5 M6. Its got 30,000 miles on it. I haven't had any problems with it yet. Interestingly, I also had to replace the little trim piece under the driver's side door handle. They're cheap and just pop in.

Welcome to the club, see you on the wave!
