Default Broken Ankle Sucks

I broke it and now I can't drive my car for 3 months!

Stuck in bed for three weeks.

Any one else done this to themselves? How long before you could clutch?

No it wasn't car related - stupid accident at home

Have fun you all

Were all friends here, so tell us how it happened. Mum is the word!

Let me guess a ladder was involved.
Hang in there. I had 2 foot surgeries in two years, a total of 12 weeks on crutches.

Not my ankle... but a few weeks after getting my car back in '03 I was playing tennisball baseball w/ buddies... well I slid headfirst into 2nd and dislocated my left shoulder. In all the pain all I could think about was if I couldn't drive the car... it was my only car! Luckily it was my left shoulder and I made it work just fine sling and all

Yes, it was a ladder and I missed a step and came crashing down on the side of my left foot. My foot was at a right angle to my shin when I went to the hospital. Now I have plates in my foot

Just a dumb *** move on my part.

I'm dedicating my drive home from work today to you, and to everyone else who can't drive their Z's for whatever reason!

Damn brother sorry to hear about it I am looking foreword to driving the Z in 2 weeks. Had a nurmoa removed in my left foot, and I just can not use the clutch. No worries, the car is getting a new 390 while I am laid up. be safe fellas.

Knees are bad. Your story gives me reason not whine too hard.

There's always someone else who had it worse.

This forum has the best people on it.

I broke my ankle dancing but fortunately it wasn't the LEFT ankle...so I could still drive with my cast but eventually sawed it off with a ginsu knife so I could go in the jacuzzi.

That broken femur photo was way TMI!

I spiral fractured my left ankle(Basketball tournament) 2 years ago Oct.....It took 37 days before I could push the clutch in on my Dodge pickup..Which is alot stiffer than my Z.....It was able to drive with one foot..The truck dose not require any throttle to get rolling and I was able to shift without pushing the clutch in...To date I still have sharp pain every once in awhile( Bone spurs) and lost all feeling in my big toe....I have broken 16 bones over the years and by far the ankle was and still is the worst.....Good Luck and Get Well

I feel your pain, I remember breaking mine playing soccer.
taking a shower was the worst. you have to hop on one leg and try not get the cast wet and pray you dont slip and fall
3 months is probably worst case scenario. they told me 3 months also, I believe I had my cast off in a lil over a month. then u'll need 1-2 weeks for it to be strong enough to walk on again since the foot is all pale, weak, and retarded and forgot what to do

Yup...fluid spill took me out. Pinned my leg in ridng position under the motorcycle. Every time I rolled, it broke some more - until I somehow threw the motorcycle off me at which point I watched it unwind. Very pleasant day.

Almost exactly two years ago I broke my ankle. I actually broke the talus which is the bone that supports your ankle. 1 surgery, 2 titanium pins, and 5 months later (4 of which were spent on crutches) I could drive my car again. My current daily driver was my only car then (a 97 Camaro w/ a stick) so I had to drive my mom's Tahoe for awhile. I know how you feel. Hope you are doing better soon.
