Ive wanted a corvette since i was 6 (now 25) and they just keep getting better. I read about all you people and how much you love your cars, and how they take on meaning and personality with you, and how some people really get emotional for the cars and... dammit... i dont have one!
This is just my little way of saying grrr! reading these stories makes my hands ache for a steering wheel and brain try to figure any possible way to obtain one....
I swear im obsessed... I cant decide anything except its going to be a 99 6spd... hopefully z51 with no dual zone... anything else is pretty much up to the car i find.
sigh, just reading some of the posts here i dunno gives you that feeling that you wnat something so bad, clenching your fists kinda soothes the feeling slightly, but it never goes away.
51 here & we're on our 2nd vette. along the way were these minor things like buying & selling a # of homes, putting 2 sons thru college for their undergrad degrees, buying (& selling) a boat, doing grad school & much, much more. if one works hard, one should darn well play hard. a vette & other things fit in to a complex financial plan that allows one to save for the future & live in the present. like many things in life, your day will come, possibly when you least expect it. bub

two words my friend . CREDIT SCORE ! bought my vette at 23... if you can find a way to finance it . that is the fastest way .. in my opinion to obtain one !! ..
i ...like you read this forum too for a soild year before i pulled the trigger on my 1999 C5 FRC petwer with a C5R painted black rear.
Any particular reason you don't have one? I have a 99 FRC that I just picked up a few months ago and have been loving it ever since. I grew up with a Vette in the garage (74 Stingray) since my dad is a huge Corvette guy. Insurance is probably cheaper than you'd think, I'm paying 309 a month with a speeding ticket and my wifes 06 Altima. I'm 23. Just curious as to why you haven't pulled the trigger and picked one up.
well, i just got my first house (in brevard county, FL right during the height of the stupid boom... so that kinda blows it now) but i turn 26 in november, so my goal is to have one in my little garage (i had to buy a house specifically with a garage for a future vette.... hehe) is going to be a c5 by the end of the year...
Right now I have a 400 HP silver dodge SRT4, and Im just trying to get rid of this somehow and manage to get enough for my new baby...
everyone, go outside (garage, i mean garage! anyone keep it outside?) and give your baby a hug for me
(hopefully im not the only one that actually hugs his car... )
and yes, im sitting here reading every reply people make... just getting a feeling for the community, as ive been trolling for a few years now and just signed up this year when my friend got his NBM vert (met stu at the ecklers show woohoo hehe)
A) still have the srt... cant afford 2
B) im scared
the feeling of having a dream actually obtainable, kinda freaky... but, if i find the right car, anything is possible. though to make that easy, itd have to be through a dealer, and those prices are a bit higher, and they'd put a pineapple up my butt for my old car so im looking to sell that private to recoup a LITTLE mod money.
I waited til I was 49 to get my C5. Your turn will come grasshopper.
49 here too when I got my first Vette. I wish I had done it sooner. Hang in there and keep your eye on the target and it may happen sooner than you think.
Man you'll get your Vette. Like I told you before you just need to push harder to sell your car. It's a rocketship (that's faster than me) and someone out there is dying to have it. Besides, you still need to decide on what bodystyle you want. Gotta love verts though! And NBM is sexy too!
