Just wandering if anyone uses flowmaster exhaust? searched and couldn't find much on them, they don't seem to be very popular any reason why? Thanks

I listened to them on that same link they sound excellent to me, mostly camaros and trans ams use them and seem to sound pretty sweet, maybe it is because they have smaller pipes people don't like em ?? I really liked the sound of the GHL BULLETS as well, anybody know best priced site to get them?
I have them and they sound pretty good. Actually they could be a little louder for my taste, but the sound at WOT is fine. Most guys here don't like them, but I think that is due more to their reputation as a cheap Mustang exhaust than anything else. At $750 installed they were an inexpensive alternative to the pricier systems for me. As far as performance gains, I don't think any of the aftermarket systems make much difference, especially on a stock car.
Dodge Magnum
Chevy Impala
71 Big Block Corvette
Dodge durango
Dodge Dakota
all my cars have gotten flowmaster. Ive enjoyed the sound everytime.
I will be installing flowmaster's on my vette this weekend. It will end up costing me about 260.00 for everything. Install, tips, mufflers, everything.
FYI flowmaster wants $400.00 EACH for this
while you can buy this for $100 per (Flowmaster part #52580)
for me its not worth $300.00 rip off for black paint, dual outs, and small tips.
This is a corvette Tax at its finest.
cheers

johnsc5 thank you for your opinion on the flowmasters, what series or system do you have? mufflers, cat-back,x-pipe, H-pipe, what exactly does it consist of? you wouldn't happen to have a sound clip? thanks

My friend has flowmasters in his vert. I hate them. They are way too loud during crusing on the highway to the point where it is difficult to have a conversation.
that $260 will be my out of pocket cost for the total system. period.
Order the mufflers from Summit, go to your favorite muffler shop (the mom and pop places are the best )
pick out the tips you want and say the magic word
"I have cash and I dont need a recipt"
Here is the break down
200 for mufflers
30 for chrome tips
30 for welding, install and materials. They will only need about 12" of pipe. Heck they could use scrap from a prior job. this is a bang in bang out gig.
My thinking is this. Chevy designed a straight and smooth system so paying money for a cat back is a waist of pipe and materials.
I think getting high flow cats is a scam, but thats a different thread.
Just add in the muffler you wnat and drive.
cheers

I like loud cars, but the vette is different. I too have a vert and I may end up disliking them. But for 260 out of pocked compaired to the 800-1000 the other kits cost.Ill take that chance.
I hope our tasts are different BrianWe and I end up enjoying them *fingers crossed*

I have the black mufflers depicted in 71AirStrike's post with the chrome tips. I believe these are the 80 series. I just have the mufflers - no headers or X pipe. They seem to have gotten somewhat louder over the past year since I got them. Not sure why, but they were a little mellower when initially installed. I don't have a sound clip of them. If you can get a better deal than I got on them then the difference vs. the pricier systems would be well worth it. Unless you're looking for something truly loud I don't think you will be disappointed.
