Installed Chrome Weiand intake manifold yesterday and the car wont run properly with my Granatelli MAF sensor. I have 10,000 miles with the GMS MAF with no problems till now. I switched back to my stock MAF sensor. And it doesnt run any better with it. I unplug the MAF and it seems to run better without it. Scratching our heads at this point. Any suggestions?

We had a massive vaccuum leak when installed. But got it tightened down finally with no leaks....we think. We ran a propane test on it so we seem to have the leaks fixed. I'll have it checked again. During the first leaks. The car ran WOT. After leaks sealed. It just idles real rough with the MAF plugged up. ???????
Any more ideas?
I added a Grantelli MAF to my Z28 (also LS1 same thing) and with the stock manifold it always idled rough.
I think you have increased your airflow to the point where you need to tune the car now. If you ruled out leaks on the manifold and the MAF worked before with the stock manifold...then I think it could be a tuning issue
Yeah I tried all the relearning steps from GMS and GM. The car wont run long enough with the MAF plugged in to perform the relearn steps properly. I talked to Street & Performance and they also think there is still a vacuum leak issue. Ive ordered new gaskets and we will try a new torqeing method advised by Street & Performance. Im hoping that will take care of the problem. I should know after Monday. I'll keep you all informed.
Thanks for the responses.
when i had that intake, i had to use 2 sets of the cardboard gaskets and lots of rtv to get it to seal good. and if its not a newer style intake, you might have issues with the valley pan bolts hitting the undersize of the intake.
For those following up...... I finally have it right. It was a vacuum leak. The gaskets sent by Holley were crappy thin pieces of cardboard paper gaskets. I re-oerdered from Jegs (new gaskets) and they sent me Felpro gaskets which were much thicker and nicer. Gasket sealer around everything (both sides). And now the intake works properly with the MAF sensor plugged in too. No codes or rough idles. Feels like my old car again. I'll post a more recent update soon with pics.
Thanks for all the help.
