Default 2000 S2000 or 97 C5

My wife wants me to get rid of one of the cars. Either the 2000 S2000(Black vert) or my 97 C5 (Torch Red coupe). Dang this is a hard decision. Both cars, about 48,000 miles and in excellent condition. Anyone got any opinions on this?

Trade them both and get a C6. I don't know why this car is dissed around here - I LOVE THE C6.

Let me get this straight.... ...You're asking a Corvette Forum... ...if you should keep the Honda?

On second thought, I think you should sell the Corvette. If you really have to ask this question, then you don't appreciate owning a Corvette nearly enough to keep it.

Enjoy your Honda.

Really hard decision. I had a s2k before my C5.

While I think I could get a C5 around a track faster than a s2k, on local winding roads the s2k is MUCH more fun. Also since you live in CA, it's much easier to drop the top on the s2k vs remove the targa on the C5.

My problem with the S2k is it doesn't fit a surfboard in it which poses a huge problem for me. It's also not anywhere close to having the useable powerband of a C5. While the TQ curve is VERY flat in an s2k, it's really docile if you aren't winding it out. It's pretty much a sport bike on 4 wheels.

Sell the Vette. The S2000, kind of has that "Gotta have it factor."

Default S2000 or C5

Is trading the wife in on a more supporting one a possibility?

OK - lets see...which car has the most low end torque.....

Ever notice in the S2000 you have to keep things above 6 grand to feel any forward motion?

I think even the Hondog Forum would say keep the vette.

Oh yeah - kinda whipped aren't we????

Sell one, save up the cash. Keep saving... Now sell the other one.

Then Go out and buy a Ford GT, lambo, or Ferrari.

Hmmm let me see if I can explain why it's dissed.

It has nothing to do with its performance or handling capabilities.
It has to do with its exterior styling.
It is some 4 tenths of a second faster in the quarter mile than a stock C5 and some 4 mph faster on the top side.
This certainly isn't much for a C5 to over come with a few bolt ons, therefore, one cannot say that the c6 is a performance beast over the c5.
What little the C5 gives up in performance it more than makes up for in looks. It's lower to the ground, it's wider, more sleek looking and overall presents a more F1 image by far, than does a c6.
This is not to say that the c6 is a bad looking car, nor is it a bash on the c6.
GM could have done more with regard to the C6 but rather, dropped the ball.
Performance wise, I'll give the nod to the c6, on the other hand as exterior looks go the C5 is the winner by a large margin.

Or keep the Vette to drive and the Honda to mow the lawn . . .

(sorry, couldn't help myself)
