Painting my calipers next week. Is high temp paint necessary? On this forum some us VHT, 500F Duplicolor, Rustoleum, and body color Duplicolor. I am painting the rotor hats and caliper frame gloss black and the calipers red. The car is never tracked. I'll probably spray them since I am installing SS lines and the calipers will be off the car.
I just used Sunset Red from Rustoleum( not even high temp)... on my calipers. Has lasted a year now, no issues
I believe guys are using the high temp paint on the rotor hats.
Check for a post on the topic by Evil-Twin . I believe he used some 1500 degree clear for the hats.

For the calipers - many forum members have had great success with plain old Rustoleum. As far as the rotor hats, they might get hotter, but they should still be okay, since you aren't tracking the car.
My first go around, I painted my calipers myself with the G2 Folia-Tek kit that I got at Forum Vendor Xtreme Motorsports. It's a 2-stage epoxy that dries as hard as a brick. It's a brush on paint, so it isn't absolutely a requirement to take off the calipers.
Since then, I have had my calipers powdercoated. More expensive and look a little nicer, but if you take your time, apply several coats and mask off any areas that you don't want paint on - the results will be excellent!

I used Rustoleum on my C3's calipers. On the Rogue C5 I used genuine Dupont automotive paint (Mag Red Met II : primer, base coat, tint coat, clear coat).
400-500 degree paint is okay for the calipers. You should use at least 1200 degree paint for the rotor hats and edges. Don't worry about masking off the rotor, the pads will clean the firepath quickly.
