Tire Size.....
can someone tell me if I can put 225/45/zr17 on the front of my car . I have the stock thin spokes on

those are way too narrow.
they will technically fit, according to the tirerack's spec chart for an 8.5" wheel but cosmetically they will look like hell IMO.
also the OD is 25" and the stock sized 275/40/18 is 26.7 so your rake will be pretty dramatic...you'd probably end up looking like a stink bug.

Too narrow and too short, your handling and aesthetics would both be off.

It is best NOT to install such a small tire width (a 225mm tire) onto an 8.5 inch wide wheel that is designed to preferably accommodate a tire width size of 245mm (i.e., o.e. for C5 Coupe, or, C5 Vert front tire), or, 255mm width tire.
