my second time made 5 runs, worse was 89.95mph...I ground third gear...OUCH!!!!!!, best was 13.260 at 106.38, RT was .69, 60 was 2.082, 1/8 was 84.07, 1000 was 11.130. basically I think I launch OK but seem to have a problem getting third gear...to get it I have to be slow...you can just hear the thinking ....shift it already! Any thoughts about these times and any recommendations on shifting. see my signature for my mods...I have no idea if they have added any value. Only know there was a bone stock there that ran 13.02 at 111.0 MPH. He shifted good though! :mad
Your launching very well, it is very difficult to get a 2.0 60 ft time with the 6 speed. I go to the drag strip frequently in LA (LACR) , The shift from 2nd to 3rd is the most difficult.
Its all about how your hand lay on the gear shift. You should have a "pistol grip" handle of the **** when you go 1st to 2nd and use your palm when you go to 3rd. Going to 4th, you should place your hand over the ****, so that the back of you hand is pointing towards the radio. This prevents the old 1 to 2 to 3 to 2 catastrophy!!!!
Try it, it works for me on my cars. It is also very easy to get nervous at the strip, I still get butterflies in my stomach, breathe deeply and chew gum. Again, it works for me-
Take care.
Like I said, it works for me, I guess I've just gotten used to driving that way ;) .
Regardless, I also want to get an aftermarket shifter. The space between gears on the C5's aren't as close as I would like.
I shift basically the same way. I set up each shift with a different position of my hand. Bone stock I ran a 12.6 @ 112mph with a 2.0 60' and granny shifting with stock tires. Reaction time means nothing unless you are going head to head. When I power shift I get way too squirly on my 1-2 shift.
