Default Brake Fluid Flush

I own a 1998 C5 with 18K original highway Miles. Do I need to change the Brake fluid given the age of the car?

It won't hurt to change it, but since you only have 18K on it in 10 years, i'd say drive it a little more

If you do change, buy some speed bleeders (http://www.speedbleeder.com).

I changed mine (99 vette, 58000 miles at the time), and changed my bleed screws... easy one man job to bleed the brakes.

yes, DOT 3 brake fluid should be changed every 2 years, DOT 4 should be changed every year.

you're way over due. Brake fluid is designed to absorb water from the brake system. once it is saturated, any water that gets into the system pools and can cause rust.
