Default Wheel offset question

I have searched offsets and see number like 56,57,58 mm but when i call the wheels companies they say things like 30-38 mm's how do these number relate? im sure the aftermarket bigger wheels have more clearance but why the smaller numbers?

They don't relate. A mm is a mm. Make sure you get the right offset, or you will be in for a big suprise when you go to mount your new set....

Peace

My question is not about mounting the wheels as they were made for a C5 but are for brake clearance. Are those mm measurements different?

i bet with a 35mm offset you'll be able to clear any brakes you want...they'll stick waaaaaaaaaaaay out of the fender.

You guys arent helping . What part of MADE FOR C5 am I not typing correctly. For reference I called HRE and they have from 30-38 mm caliper clearance for custom c5 wheels. Tons of poeople here run them so I think they know what they are talking about.

i would guess those numbers mean that's how much clearance from the caliper the spokes will have.

They are different.
Offset is the distance from the centerline of the wheel to its mounting surface.
Caliper clearance is...well...caliper clearance. The smallest gap between any part of the wheel and the caliper.
