Yes, I am refering to the windshield wiper stalk. I can't understand why GM would put the actuator for a seldom used feature on the right side and so close to the steering wheel. I guess they claim it is there so you don't have to look down from the road. It seems like every time I drive I accidently bump the darn thing and the wipers sweep once.
I am trying to figure a way to either bend it away and/or down a bit or shorten it. I suppose doing that would be a major production. Anybody else bothered by this? Any other options?
Nah the worst feature is the TC on my '97. Its very overreactive and when it comes on it comes on hard. It would be nice if it could "toned down" like in the later year models with the competition mode. Everything else on my vette I love.

Hhhhmm, I never had this problem, but I saw a guy on ebay sell a shortened stalk, it was about an inch shorter. He wanted alot(to me) for it so I dismissed it. Check around there, you may have some luck!

yep; I know exactly what you're describing here; and yes it is annoying.
I agree, this happened to me today while I was scrolling thru the gages to check tire air pressure. When you reach for the buttons, it's right there and easy to hit. A shorter stalk may be the answer.
Nah, the worst feature is the lack of storage inside the car. Where do you put your sunglasses? Bringing a magazine for lunch - its gotta go on the floor. And god forbid you need to put a briefcase somewhere.
For me the absolute worst is the seat back adjustment mechanism. When I put a little too much pressure on one side it pops and goes back a few inches. It normally happens when I am putting on the seatbelt, I twist a little to the right to click-it and POP. That's not bad when I'm stopped, but when I'm entering turn #8 at Spring Mountain going 115 MPH while braking and downshifting when it popped both sides let loose. Just a little steering input unbalanced the car and I went off thru the desert. Here is a picture of the result.
The second thing is the windshield wiper control arm. As mentioned before hitting this by accident is very annoying.
Third is the change holder (aka: cup holder).
Fourth is the warming tray (aka: Console). Unbeknownst to me my daughter placed a Hershey bar in this. In a few hours it was liquid, sure glad it did not leak.
Great car, even with these minor glitches.
