My neighbor's buddy just bought a new stock 350Z and says it would destroy my vette (03, A4, 325 RWH, Axle ratio 2.73) in the quarter mile Is this true? What if I changed the ratio to 3.42...noticeable difference?
Its an easy two Step process. Step 1 take them to the track. Step 2, stomp his Z. For added pleasure repete Step 2 multiple times.
From Edmunds.com about the 06 350Z...
"Although we weren't able to perform instrumented testing on this particular Z, our long-termer hustled from zero to 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds and scorched through the quarter-mile in 14.2 seconds."
just by doing an exhaust mod to my 03 g35 coupe i was running with the nissan Z's. They arent as fast as you may think. The owners think they are if they havent driven anything other than that. When i first got it, the car was quick, but 3 weeks later it was slow. You can take it easily. The stock 03 Z had 280hp at the fly wheel stock. Its slow enought to where you can toy with him and still beat him. You've got almost a 100hp over him at the wheels and def beat him in the weight dept.
Wishful thinking on his part. 350z is a nice car but the numbers just don't add up. I've been up against a headered 350z (I was stock) down the back straight of a track here (70mph to 150mph pull) and had to let up in fourth to not gain on him too much (was letting him stay in front on purpose).
I've been driving Z's for years and ended up trading my 350Z after one year for my 98 A4 2.73. You'll do just fine. He's actually in worse shape being in an 06 Z rather than an 04 like I had. Nissan changed a couple of things between these years that increased HP from 287 to 300, but at the sacrifice of low-end torque.
He's going to lose by 1 car at the 60' and it'll only get better for you.
Jeff, you think you deserve respect??? Your fussy dice don't even match the color of your car! See you tonight at the street meet
That was low. It's called color coordination. It must be a real inconvenience for you to suffer from color-blindness. So that explains why your clothes don't match.
