[Z06] My first 1/8
My runs were as follows.
Well I finally got to run in the 1/8 and it was my first time ever. I was bone stock, not even a tp change. Probably at 35 psi all around.
My runs were as follows.
Reaction 60 FT 330 FT 1/8 MpH
1.122 2.126 5.528 8.477 80.495(didn't know where track ended, let off)
1.248 2.132 5.693 8.550 88.173
.908 2.354 6.051 8.976 85.342
.769 2.485 6.313 9.266 85.673(spun sideways, let off started again)
.637 2.243 5.893 8.782 86.199
I know these are horrible times but I never drag raced before and spun through 1st 2nd and part of 3rd. I wasn't getting traction til after the 60 ft somewhere according to friends. I've read Ranger's tip and must keep practicing I guess. I was launching at around 3g and went down to 2500. My first run with me easy launching it and letting off ALOT I got the best run, probably cause it was the only run I didn't spin through the gears on. What do you guys think? Was it so bad cause I was spinning to much? Thanks.
Edit I also had a 24pack of water and 12 pack of soday in the trunk with some a pair of shorts and shirt. I wonder if that lowered my times signifigantly or only a little.

Fore reference, my LT-4 could run 8.30s-8.50s on plain street tires and at the similar MPH to yours.
I would suggest to keep practicing the launch and work on the shifting. The launch will help 60' and ultimately your ET. The shifting will help ET as well as your MPH.

1/8 mile drag strips are real drag strips - fully sanctioned. We have a local NHRA 1/8 mile track with full points program and the track points leaders participate in the NHRA regional bracket finals.
Some bracket racers will argue that racing in the 1/8 is more fun. Granted you aren't going as fast MPH in the 1/8, but everything up to there is the same - still have to get them to hook, cut a light, and dial the car in.
