I hope that I'm okay posting this here. I am an amateur photographer and went to Arlington National Cemetery today in the hopes of getting some good photographs in recognition of the brave men and women who gave their lives in years past, and risk their lives today, protecting our great nation.
Memorial Day holds special meaning to me because one of my good friends, John Dennis, was killed on Memorial Day 1968 when we were ambushed near Con Thien. Seldom a day has passed in 38 years that I haven't thought about John and all of my other friends who were killed in Vietnam.
One of my friends died in Iraq the other week , and my great grandfather was killed in the civil war... Good luck to your stepson in Iraq Rd, He'll be in my prayers.

Thanks for the pics. They are a great tribute. They also bring back memories. I spent 2 years in the "Old Guard" stationed at Fort Myer. I know the bone yard well. Thanks again.
