Default Blown sub Woofer/Key FOB

Had my son bring my vert to dealer for key #2 to be programed.
When he came back, I used the car the next day and found my sub woofer blown. Abviously, I yelled at my son for playing "his" music to loud. But some after thought, is anything the dealer did to program the key cause this to happen. If so, I need to say "I'm sorry to my son", which he would love to hear. LOL

one last thing I forgot, when he got back all my preset gauges were all set to different things, so I also yelled at him for messing with them.
He swears he touched nothing.

maybe the dealer disconnected the battery for some reason? That would explain the gauges being reset... and then maybe the fuse for the sub got blown?

The dealer may have disconnected the battery for some unknown reason. For next time, here is the procedure for programming the fob so you can aviod the trip to the dealer. As you'll see it isn't likely that this contributed to the sub not working. Maybe just a blown fuse.

Paul

The manual for my 97 says:

"Try to resynchronize the transmitter by pressing and holding the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for seven seconds when standing next to the vehicle." This will attempt to resynchronize the security code in your RFA key fob transmitter.

When resynchronization is achieved the horn will chirp. If attempts to resynchronize your transmitter to the vehicle are not successful, you man need to match the transmitter to the vehicle.

To match the transmitter to your vehicle:

1. Turn the ingnition key to the ON position
2. Clear any warning messages on the Driver Information Center (DIC) by pressing the RESET button.
3. Press the OPTIONS button on the DIC several times until the blank page is displayed, then press and hold the RESET button for two seconds.
4. When the message FOB TRAINING is displayed, push the RESET button once. The message HOLD LK+UNLK 1ST FOB will be displayed.

5. Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for 15 seconds.

6. When a transmitter is learned, the DIC will display FOB LEARNED and then prompt you to learn the next transmitter.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each additional transmitter.

8. Remove the key from the ignition.

The programmer mode will shut off if:

You don't program any transmitters for two minutes.
You take the key out of the ignition.
You have programmed three transmitters.

Hope this helps.

Paul

Check to see if there is a blown fuse on the amp, or depending on who did the install, check the inline fuse as well. I have had the dealer "pop" some of my amp fuses before.
