Hi everyone. I am a relatively new C5 owner, as having purchased my first 2000 coupe 3 months ago. I love the car so far, its Pewter with black leather interior.
Two days ago the "Service Vehicle Soon" message was displayed across the DIC. When I got home, I immediately came to the forum, read up on the procedures on identifying and clearing codes. I had 6 history codes, so I cleared them and have not received the "Service Vehicle Soon" message again.
However, everytime i drive the car i've been checking for new codes b4 getting out of the car and I keep getting these 3 codes in the B0-RFA section: U1016 H, U1064 H & U1096 H.
Does anyone have an idea what may be causing these codes? I have found this forum and the members's posts to be informative and helpful. Thanks!!
As for your specific codes:
U1016 Loss of Communications with PCM
U1064 Loss of Communications with BCM
U1096 Loss of Communications with IPC
I also had all three of these codes (history of course) when I purchased my 2000 C5 this spring. I have a gut feeling that they are caused when the battery is swapped. After I cleared them they never came back for me.
