Default Simple non-mechanical problem with CD player...

We have a 2000 with the 12 disk CD changer and for some reason when you are listening to a CD lets say number 5 and end on track 7, if you turn the car off and restart it, instead of finishing off this song it arbitrarily goes to a certain (different) track on a different CD. However, although it seems random, it always goes to the same track on the same CD after startup...always. Its almost like the previous owner had some weird setting or perhaps the CD player is faulty. Any suggestions appreciated hopefully its a setting that is easily fixed. TIA

I think this is part of the memory feature.

I have the same system in my 99 and it did the same thing if I hit the memory pre set button...
Check your owners manual...
