Code help, intermittent starting

I've been having trouble with intermittent starting.

The codes I'm getting is P1631, (Theft Deterrent system password incorrect)

and B2721 (Pass key detection circuit. )

Can anyone shed any light on these bad boys?

I'm in the process now of troubleshooting from the clutch safety switch, ignition switch to the starter.

I just wondered about the theft deterrent password code, the password part most of all. WTH is that?

I had the VAT's turned off but it's still doing it. The intermittent starting thing is driving me crazy...It hasn't left me stranded yet, but I'm starting to worry..

I never heard of anyone turning off their VAT...do you use LS1 Edit for that and why would you want it off...just curious? You either got a dirty/defective pellet on your key or the ignition cylinder needs replacing.
