Congrats - You appear to be a deserving individual. I, like many others here, had to wait 50+ years for Corvette ownership. You have an inkling of how many levels you have just moved up, but it won't really sink in until you DRIVE it - by yourself!!! I deeply hope you can keep all the raging hormones in check and drive appropriately - (I am not too old to remember when I was your age), lol. Keep in mind you couldn't pick a more attention grabbing vehicle, and I refer to both the good (chix) and the bad (Cops) kind of attention. Don't help them make their ticket qouta. You will also undoubtedly encounter some jealousy and resentment from those on the lower levels of the automotive totem pole. Don't take it too personally, it's one of the few downsides of Corvette ownership that we all have to put up with.

Welcome to the club - Happy Motoring!

Haha thanks QuickSilver I appreciate it. My mustang was enough of a chick magnet as it is, now I got a Vette!

And yeah, in my 2 years driving the mustang I was pulled over more times then most in a lifetime. No tickets thank god, because I don't really speed, its just stupid stuff like violations, tinted windows, ONE speeding, but things like that.

I am paranoid of cops though, my dad will KILL ME if I get a ticket. Cops always pick on me though, and Im sure it will be no different with a Vette.

At least I don't have a exhaust on the Vette YET... LoL... I have a Full exhuast on the mustang - LT's, O/R X, and Loudmouth 1's. The mustang attracts QUITE a bit of attention with an exhaust system like that.

I hope I do ok!

Welcome to one of the best sites on the net! Anything and everything you ever wanted to know is here. A huge talent pool of folks all eager to help.

After you strap on the vette, you'll want to throw rocks at the rustang. It's like night and day.

Yea see the problem is... he still thinks he's 18 too! And has always thought that regardless even though he just turned 50.

Good thing for me, my dad pulled his mid-life crisis at a good point in time.
Haha.

But, my dad had 4 new cars by the time he was 22. He had a 77 Vette, Camero SS, Turino, and Z28. My mom and dad claim that my mom also had the hottest Z28 in the LAND when they were young... So cars run in the family.

My dad wanted me to be like him, he always had the hottest cars when he was young, so he wanted to try to do the same for me and my brother, and he gets part of the deal while hes still young too!

Yea, hes a great man though!

This should answer all of your questions about a column lock bypass:

http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=24

Plus if you navigate through the above 2 sites, you will come across a lot of helpful "how to's"

No way?

So if the column locks you need to do what!?! You cannot get it to unlock? No driving?

How the hell do you get it to unlock, thats crazy.

Obviously this is different because when normal car steering wheels lock, you have to turn it HARD and put the key in the ignition and start to car to get it unlocked... At least thats how my mustang is.

Basically I need this column lock bypass thing then huh?

Wow thats crazy...

Congrats on the car! I was/am 17 when I got my vette! I LOVE IT! There are a million things to do to these cars and you always want more!

This Forum is great, there a lot of great people with a lot of work in their cars. Where are you located? Everyone in this forum is so helpful and loves working on the car! I'm sure you could find someone in your area, it's great to get together and work on the vette.

Congrats, I bet the wait is killing you!

wave to all vettes... Some may not wave back... But don't get discourages, some people don't know. It is a great feeling to get a wave!

If mustang owners waved... Their arms would be out the window all day long..

good luck with the car!
